Guitar lessons

This afternoon was the first guitar lesson at the church in Lozova. Six students came and we all started full enthusiasm. As for many things in life, and also for learning to play guitar, you need discipline to get good results! From the beginning it is hard (and a bit painful) but the one who shows perseverance will rejoice later in the results! We set as goal to play a song at Christmas time. So lets practice!

Vanmiddag was de 1ste gitaar les in Lozova. Zes studenten waren gekomen en enthousiast zijn we van start gegaan. En zoals voor veel dingen in het leven geldt, en dus ook voor het leren gitaar spelen, het is vaak een kwestie van gedisciplineerd zijn als je goede resultaten wilt bereiken. Alle begin is moeilijk (en soms zelf wat pijnlijk) maar degene die doorzet, kan later genieten van mooie resultaten. Als dole hebben we om met kerst een liedje te spelen! Dus vol goede moed oefenen maar!

Discovering Jesus - part 1/ Jezus ontdekken - deel 1

Thanks to all who prayed for the study days we had last Friday and Saturday at the church in Lozova. We look back upon a real blessed time in which we studied together Gods Word and discovered more about the Lord Jesus. A group of 25-30 people gathered from 5-6 different villages in the area. There was also time for fellowship, worshiping together but a big part of the two days we were learning and discovering more about the Lord. As all of us learned new things, we pray that it will lead to a daily closer walk with the Lord. May He be seen in all of us!

Iedereen hartelijk bedankt die heeft mee gebeden voor de afgelopen twee studiedagen, vrijdag en zaterdag, bij de kerk in Lozova. We kijken terug op een gezegende en goede tijd waarin we samen Gods woord hebben bestudeerd en meer hebben ontdekt over de Heer Jezus. De groep bestond uit 25 a 30 mensen van 5/ 6 verschillende dorpen uit de omgeving. Er was natuurlijk ook tijd voor een praatje met elkaar, samen zingen maar vooral samen leren en nieuwe dingen ontdekken over de Heer. Iedereen heeft wel wat nieuws geleerd en we bidden dat we hierdoor dagelijks dichter met Hem zullen wandelen. Dat Hij gezien zal worden in een ieder van ons!

Winter cursus / Winter course

In de komende 4 wintermaanden hebben we verschillende studiedagen gepland voor de lokale kerken hier. Samen willen we meer leren over de Heer en Hem ontdekken in de Bijbel. We willen jullie vragen om mee te bidden voor de eerste twee studie dagen, eind van deze week: vrijdag en zaterdag. Bid voor een goede voorbereiding, goede vertaling, een mooie opkomst en een gezegende studie tijd samen.

In the coming 4 winter months we planned different study days for the believers of the local churches here in the area. Together we would like to learn more about the Lord and discover Him in the Bible. We would like you to ask to pray for the first two study days, end of this week: Friday and Saturday. Pray for good preparations, good translation, a nice amount of people to show up and a blessed study time together. May we all get to know HIM better!

Sister fellowship group has started!

As the fall comes to an end and the work on the fields and in the gardens gets less intense and people have a bit more time, the local church in Lozova plans and starts new activities. One of the new things started is a sister fellowship group.
In the last couple of weeks on Sundays, after the morning service, a group of sisters gets together for about an hour. Besides reading together a scripture part, they also share prayer requests, pray together, encourage each other to stand strong in their faith and to be a good example for those around them. They motivate each other to be disciplined and check how each one has been doing during the last week with Bible reading at home. May God bless the fellowship and the sisters! 

Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing. - 1 Tes 5:11

3 weeks later / 3 weken later

After 3 weeks we arrived well back home from our trip to the US. We look back upon a good time with family, old friends & new friends. We thank the Lord for this trip and we thank all who prayed for us. And yes, now the time has come to start working again! May He help us and guide us!

Na 3 weken reizen in Amerika zijn we weer thuis in Lozova. We kijken terug op een goed tijd met familie, oude en nieuwe vrienden. We danken de Heer voor deze reis en ook hartelijk dank aan iedereen die heeft mee gebeden voor een goede reis. En ja, nu is het weer tijd om aan de slag te gaan! We bidden dat Hij ons zal helpen en leiden!
