Werk in Lozova

Youth camp = starting!

Today the youth camp will start! We were aiming for 70 youth between 13 and 18 years old, from 5 different places, but as it looks like now we will have a bit less.... for different reasons many of the youth we invited can't come but we pray that God will bring those who have an open heart for Him and that their lives will be changed! May He bless the camp!

We appreciate your prayers this week for the camp (Monday - Saturday morning). Some special request:
- Safe travels for everybody today but also safety during the whole week while playing games and camping in the forest.
- For wisdom and Gods guidance and His words to be spoken during the Bible studies and the fellowship times.
- For a smooth working together as we have leaders from different villages, towns and countries! May God unite us!

A quiet and peaceful place (still....;-)

Baptism!

Today we traveled all the way to the north of MD to attend the baptism of Ana, (the future wife of Andreas, Spiridons smaller brother, coming Saturday will be the wedding).

The baptism took place in a local river and because it had rained 3 days, the water was cold and brown. But as we were sitting near the river and listened to the preachings, I was reminded how Jesus also had many open-air services without microphones, speakers etc. And of course the Lord Jesus was also baptized in a local river and probably the water was also not crystal clear and nicely heated??
He became a man like us and his Father was pleased!

Matthew 3:
In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah:

A voice of one calling in the wilderness,
Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.

People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region of the Jordan. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.......

......“I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.......

......Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented. As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

Visiting the museum nearby

In the village Dolna, near to Micleuseni, there is museum and since I heard about the museum 3 years ago, I wanted to go and visit this museum. The village where the museum is at is not that big and I just was curious what this museum would represent. And today was the day! I went together with 2 friends to the museum. So actually the museum was made in the house of a famous Russian poem writer Mr. Puskin. The house he lived in during the 1800 was turned into a museum. We were the first visitors of that day and the lady that walked us through the museum gave a small explanation while showing us several old items. The tour took maybe 10 minutes. After that we took also a picture near his statue and we walked through the garden so total time spend in the museum: around 30 minutes!

The museum

A music box from the year 1816. Our tour-lady let the music box play one of the 8 songs...pretty cool!

Me and him;;-)

Concert in Chisinau

Saturday evening with 8 teenagers we went to a worship concert in Chisinau. A worshipband from Romania came and for many of the youth it was a new experience to worship God in a more modern-style.

Eating an icecream to cool down before the concert;-)

Back from the adventure...

Peddling from one village to another

In every village we were able to gather between 20 and 80 children for a program with games.
Also we were able to visit some families with a food parcel.

Most important: we shared with the visited families and with the children the Gospel.
We prayed together asking God to forgive us and to help us to live after His will.
During our trip many, many beautiful views passed by..... Praise God for His beautiful creation!
