Sister fellowship group has started!

As the fall comes to an end and the work on the fields and in the gardens gets less intense and people have a bit more time, the local church in Lozova plans and starts new activities. One of the new things started is a sister fellowship group.
In the last couple of weeks on Sundays, after the morning service, a group of sisters gets together for about an hour. Besides reading together a scripture part, they also share prayer requests, pray together, encourage each other to stand strong in their faith and to be a good example for those around them. They motivate each other to be disciplined and check how each one has been doing during the last week with Bible reading at home. May God bless the fellowship and the sisters! 

Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing. - 1 Tes 5:11

3 weeks later / 3 weken later

After 3 weeks we arrived well back home from our trip to the US. We look back upon a good time with family, old friends & new friends. We thank the Lord for this trip and we thank all who prayed for us. And yes, now the time has come to start working again! May He help us and guide us!

Na 3 weken reizen in Amerika zijn we weer thuis in Lozova. We kijken terug op een goed tijd met familie, oude en nieuwe vrienden. We danken de Heer voor deze reis en ook hartelijk dank aan iedereen die heeft mee gebeden voor een goede reis. En ja, nu is het weer tijd om aan de slag te gaan! We bidden dat Hij ons zal helpen en leiden!

A trip / Een reis

This week we traveled to the US. For about 3 weeks we will be visiting family, friends, churches etc. So far we enjoyed ourselves and we are looking forward to meet more people and have new american experiences.
We would like to ask you to join us in prayer for the church in Lozova, may God bless the church and provide in all that is needed. Please also pray for safe travels and for a nice "holiday".

Begin van deze week zijn we naar Amerika gereisd. Ongeveer 3 weken zullen we rondreizen om familie, vrienden en kerken te bezoeken. Tot nu toe hebben we een goede tijd gehad en we zien uit naar meer nieuwe Amerikaanse ervaringen. We willen jullie vragen om mee te bidden voor de kerk in Lozova, dat de Heer zal voorzien in alles dat nodig is, voor goede reizen en voor een goede "vakantie" tijd.

Een feestdag / A day of celebration

Vandaag een feestdag in de kerk in Lozova! Drie vrouwen hadden besloten zich te laten dopen, de jongste 15 jaar en de oudste 70+. De oudste zuster vertelde dat ze al 20 jaar het verlangen had om gedoopt te worden maar dat door verschillende omstandigheden het er nooit van gekomen was. Ze was erg blij dat vandaag dan toch de dag was gekomen. We wensen onze nieuwe zusters Gods zegen!

Today a celebration in the church in Lozova! Three ladies had decided to get baptized, the youngest 15 years and the oldest over 70 years. The oldest sister shared that for about 20 years she had the desire to get baptized but all the time something was hindering here and so she never got baptized. So she was very happy that today she got baptized. We wish our new sisters Gods blessings!   

Thankful / Dankbaar

Yesterday we had a special service in which we thanked the Lord for all He gave us in the last year. Different people brought different things they harvested and all together there was a nice display of different fruits and vegetables. The service was filled with different poems, songs, thoughts from the Bible and at the end there was a meal for everybody. Despite the fact that not a lot of people came from the village, it was a blessed time and we are thankful for all He gave us!

Gisteren was er een speciale dienst waarin we de Heer hebben bedankt voor alles wat Hij ons in het afgelopen jaar heeft gegeven. Verschillende mensen hadden iets van de oogst meegenomen en alles bij elkaar was het een vrolijk tentoonstelling van fruit en groenten. De dienst was gevuld met gedichten, liederen en Bijbel gedeelten en aan het eind was er een maaltijd voor iedereen. Ondanks het feit dat er niet zoveel mensen uit het dorp waren gekomen, was het een gezegende tijd en zijn we dankbaar voor alles wat Hij heeft gegeven.
