Work at the church

In the last weeks the floor of the church got covered with more and more floor tiles and hopefully soon we will also have doors installed to the different rooms, the walls will get painted a color and the bathroom area will get finished. We also rejoice to see that people continue come to church on Sundays and we are able to stay connected with them. Please join us in prayer for more finances as we all know that after summer, winter is coming and we will need to install the heating system. We don't have enough finances yet for this. Thank you for your prayers!

Jongerenkamp / Youth Camp

Vandaag is het jongerenkamp begonnen. In het bos ongeveer 15 minuten van Lozova vandaan, zijn de tenten opgezet en hopelijk wordt het een mooie week voor de jongeren. Laten we bidden voor goed weer, een leuke sfeer, goede onderlinge communicatie tussen de verschillende leiders en voor de jongeren zelf, dat ze meer van God zullen leren en aangespoord zullen worden om elke dag met Hem te leven.

Today the youth camp started. In the forest about 15 minutes from Lozova, the tents are set up and hopefully it will be a great week for the young people. Let us pray for good weather, a nice atmosphere, good communication between the different leaders and for the young people themselves, that they will learn more from God and will be encouraged to live with Him every day.

Speeltuin / Playground

In the last week we had a team from the US come and help at the church. We are very thankful for all they have done and the way we were able to work together. May God bless all involved! Two weeks ago a 100 trucks of soil were brought to level the territory around the church cause otherwise we wouldn't be able to build a playground with the team that came. Beside some small details we were able to install a nice playground and the overall result looks good! Besides all kind of practical work we also visited 10 elderly at home and were able to pray with many of them. At the moment two workers continue to put floor tiles in the church. The classrooms and the kitchen are all done and now a start will be made with the big hall. Hopefully at the end of June the first part of the church will look nice and finished! Prayers are appreciated!

Afgelopen week hadden we een team op bezoek uit Amerika. We zijn erg blij met alles wat we samen hebben kunnen doen. Twee weken geleden zijn er 100 vrachtwagens met grond gebracht om het terrein rond de kerk op te hogen en vlak te maken. Samen met het team hebben we een speeltuin geïnstalleerd en op wat kleine details na, is de speeltuin af en het resultaat ziet er goed uit! Naast al het praktische werk hebben we ook nog 10 ouderen bezocht en voor hen gebeden. Op dit moment worden de vloeren door twee werkers betegeld. De klaslokalen en keuken zijn klaar en ze gaan nu beginnen aan de grote hal. Hopelijk zal eind juni het eerste deel van de kerk er mooi en afgewerkt uitzien! Jullie gebeden worden op prijs gesteld.

 

Kids Day / Kinderdag

Today it was ALL about the kids: 1 June - international children's day. We were able to welcome 80 kids at the church and the first hour it was all about playing games and the bouncing castle;) After that we went inside the church and first we watched a magic trick and listened to Spiridon as he shared the Gospel, we sang some songs together and than it was time for the long-waited for lotery! An air mattress, a skateboard, 2 soccer balls and a bicycle were given away. After that it was time for a nice snack, a glass of coca cola and an ice cream. At the end there was some time left for jumping on the castle and there was the possibility to get your picture taken with different props. Many thanks to all who prayed for this event and we are hoping that besides all the fun, also the Message will be remembered!

Vandaag draaide het allemaal om de kinderen: 1 juni - internationale kinderdag. We hebben 80 kinderen in de kerk verwelkomt en het eerste uur was gevuld met spelletjes spelen, springen op het springkasteel en de grabbelton;) Daarna gingen we de kerk in en allereerst keken we naar een goocheltruc en luisterden naar Spiridon terwijl hij het Evangelie vertelde, daarna hebben we wat liedjes gezongen en toen was het tijd voor de langverwachte loterij! Een luchtbed, een skateboard, 2 voetballen en een fiets werden weggegeven. Daarna was het tijd voor een snack, een glas coca-cola en een ijsje. Aan het eind was er nog wat tijd over voor het luchtkasteel en er was de mogelijkheid om een foto te maken met verschillende pruiken, brillen en hoedjes. Iedereen hartelijk bedankt die mee heeft gebeden voor deze dag en we hopen dat naast al het plezier en de gezelligheid, ook De Boodschap zal worden herinnert!

Jongeren conferentie / Youth Conference

Gisteren hebben we de 1ste jongerenconferentie gehouden in Lozova. Het thema was: zending en hoe kun je getuigen. 's Morgens waren er enkele lessen met aanwijzingen en advies over hoe we een gesprek kunnen aangaan en wat belangrijk is om te zeggen. En hebben we samen geoefend wat we leerden. Na de lunch zijn de jongeren in groepjes door Lozova gelopen en hebben ze iedereen die ze tegenkwamen uitgenodigd voor het concert om 18:00 uur. Sommige mensen namen de uitnodiging aan, anderen wilden niks ermee te maken hebben. In de avond hebben we het concert uiteindelijk gehouden voor de kerk want we kregen geen toestemming meer in het park. (En er had zich een flinke groep mensen verzameld in het park, waarschijnlijk om stampij te maken als we wel wat zouden gaan doen daar. Maar aangezien de muziek luid genoeg was, hebben ook de toeschouwers in het park mee kunnen luisteren;) Al met al een mooie dag en we zien uit naar wat de verdere resultaten ervan zullen zijn. Hartelijk dank aan iedereen die mee heeft gebeden.

Yesterday we hosted the 1st youth conference in Lozova. The main theme was missions and how to be a witness.In the morning we had some lessons with instructions and advice how we can have a conversation and what is important to say. Also we practiced together what we learned. After lunch, in small groups the youth walked through Lozova and invited everyone they met to the concert at 18:00 hour. Some people accepted the invitation, others didn't want anything to do with it. In the evening we held the concert in front of the church because we didn't get permission anymore to use the park. (And a large group of people had gathered in the park, probably to say something if we would do something there. But since the music was loud enough, the spectators in the park could also listen;) All in all, a great day and we look forward to seeing what the further results will be.
