Maxim and his new bible

Maxim is 3 years old and with his two dark brown eyes he is observing the world around him. His older brother Dima, and his two older sisters Doina and Viorica take Maxim with them where ever they go. The four of them stick together and look after each other. Their mother Viorica and their father can’t find a job and so the financial situation of this family is difficult. When there is not enough food the family goes to bed hungry and they hope that the next day there will be food. The house is small they live in but the main difference between this family and many other families in need is that the parents didn’t give up hope and are looking for a better future for themselves and their children. Mother Viorica is education her children how to behave and things like sharing with your brother or sister is a good thing to do, don’t keep everything for yourself.

After many times of visiting this family with food parcels at their house and many invitations to come to church to hear more about God, today Maxim and the rest of his family came to church. Despite the rainy weather, they came by horse and cart and listened carefully to all that was said in church. Maxim observed the program at the Sunday school and when he received a Children’s Bible at the end of the program, he just kept looking at it and hold on to it tide and firm. His brother and sisters received a Bible too. Maxim of course did not yet learn how to read and so for sure his sisters or brother will read to him out loud stories from this Bible. Let us pray that as the children read the Bible also the parents will become more interested in what this book has to tell. May Gods Word be read and understood!
