Shoes & clothes

In the last 3 weeks we were able to bless a group of children with a pair of good shoes and some nice warm winter clothes. We visited all the families of the children at home and while the children tried on tehir new shoes, it was a good moment to chat with the parents, ask about life, remind them that God is waiting for them and that He loves them and their children. And of course we invited the children and their parents to come to church. All the gifts were received with happiness and thankfulness. It is a joy to see every day the children walking around in their new outfits and with their new shoes on so praise God for this great blessing.
Below a story of some of the children we helped. Two girls we were able to help, didn't have an easy life so far. They have suffered hunger, cold, many days they are not able to go to school so they are behind in education. The sisters live with their parents, who both do not have a job and the family their only income is from what they grow on their land and what they harvest and sell. For several years the family lived without having electricity as their house is situated at the edge of the village on a hill, nobody lives close by so there are no electricity poles or connection points closely available. But one year ago they were finally able to connect their house to electricity. The house this family lives in, is small and not very well isolated. The road to their house is not paved and as soon as it rains or snows it is getting really hard to get to their house. About two years ago this family did not want to receive any help. Probably scared by the Orthodox church and the different rumors that are going through the village about the Evangelical church. As the mother was invited several times by different people, finally she had enough courage and came one time to a church gathering. This changed her opinion and now she allows her daughters to come also to the teenager club.
As we showed the shoes and the jackets to the girls and their mom, the joy was big. Mom said to the girls: “in our life we never received these kind of presents and we never had such fancy shoes and jackets”. The girls were really happy with the new things they received. Since they have to walk every day around 45 minutes to get to school, they know how helpful good shoes are that do not allow mud and snow to get in.
